BuddyTV Invited to Participate at Google I/O Sandbox

April 23, 2011 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
SEATTLE- the new v2.0 BuddyTV Guide app, which "cuts the crap" to help users quickly find what they want to watch, will be demonstrated at Google I/O on May 10 and 11 at Moscone West in San Francisco. The BuddyTV Guide displays favorite channels first, instead of ascending 1, 2, 3 order. In addition, the app takes into account- user preferences and viewing history to suggest a list of shows they will most likely watch, plus new shows that they may never have found. Users can also tap the show on their phone or tablet to change the channel on their TV and start watching quickly.

Andy Liu, CEO of BuddyTV, states, "It's exciting to be going to Google I/O and sharing with other developers what we've been able to accomplish on the Google TV platform that significantly enhances the TV discovery and watching experience for users. Personally, I've been piloting the app at home, and I can't live without it as I now select my show and turn on the TV right from my phone when I get off the elevator and before I open the door to my condo."

The new v2.0 BuddyTV Guide app:

- Orders channels by user favorites instead of by channel number
- Recommends TV shows based on user's tastes and viewing history
- Suggests new TV shows to watch that usually get buried in the grid
- Provides access to the full guide, one click away
- Enables users to tap on the guide to change the channel on their TV

To learn more about the new v2.0 BuddyTV Guide app, please stop by the Google I/O sandbox. BuddyTV will also be accepting pre-release email signups for those who want to be among the first to download the next generation of TV guides onto their smartphone or tablet. It's certain not to be an ordinary TV guide experience.

*BuddyTV Guide remote control is compatible with Google TV Logitech Revue, TiVo Series 3, and any devices controlled by Logitech Revue.
