MotherMan, a new book by Mary Dawson, has been released by RoseDog Books.

Dawson's youngest daughter, Leslie, originated the concept for MotherMan when she kept asking, "What was I like when I was little?"

The prologue provides the reader with background information of the mother, Mary, who at ten years old was a genuine tomboy. There were several key factors that resulted in Mary facing her lack of self-esteem: books, music, and spiritual interaction.

The Lord told Mary at fifteen years old, "You will be a wife and mother." So seven years later, He sent her Jerome.

The author was born and raised in Philadelphia and attended twelve years of Catholic education. During the pre-teen and teenage years, the author was a bona-fide tomboy. The college years were spent in West Virginia at the State College. Four years later, the author received an accounting degree. Within six weeks, the marriage between Mary and Jerome occurred. This union joined Mary to her best friend, now her husband and her lover. Consequently, the first part of the Lord's prophecy was fulfilled.

The final proclamation came to fruition on December 1978, and March 1980, with the birth of Michele and Leslie.

Preparations for MotherMan started in 1995. After thirty years as a fulltime accountant in the oil and gas industry, retirement in 2005 provided the additional time required to devote to her work.

MotherMan is a 132-page hardcover with a retail price of $30.00. The ISBN is 978-1-4349-8385-5. RoseDog Books of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania published it.
