DirectRooms.com reports that the streets of Pamplona are due to be overrun again with hundreds of runners as they try their hardest to outsprint the menacing bulls for the city's legendary bull festival.

The Pamplona Bull Run see spectators and runners turn out in the thousands with only the brave or perhaps slightly stupid looking to run in the famous danger zone which sees herds of bulls unleashed through the streets. Anyone thinking of taking part should consider the fact each bull is approximately 700kg and there'll be six professionally bred fighting bulls and two herds of agitated bullocks to beat on the way to the finish line.

The course length stretches for 825m from the Santo Domingo corral and as well as dodging the bulls, competitors will have to negotiate the crowds of other runners and be sure not to be stuck at the back when a bull comes charging through. Since 1924, 15 people have been killed along with 200 severe injuries from people either being gorged or trampled on.

The event now attracts people from across the world for the entire week between 6th and 14th July 2011. The entire city is packed with spectators either lining the course, filling the main bullring or taking over the bars where the spectacle is broadcast live on TV.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com commented: "With so many visitors this can make a hotel Pamplona Airport or anywhere in the city virtually impossible to find. Some bookings are made almost a year ahead of the event so people looking to travel will have to search extensively online."
