Mental health case worker Cindy Tuttle is confronting the mental traps that often stand in the way of true happiness in her new book, Joining the Dance of Life.

"This is an upbeat book that suggests how to live a full and joyful life," Tuttle says. "It reminds us to be grateful for things we may have taken for granted. It also suggests how to live and survive during difficult times. This book focuses on being fully alive and awake to the wonders of life."

Joining the Dance of Life is simple yet profound, a book that will help readers discover the simple joys they might otherwise daily overlook. Each brief chapter contains an inspirational poem, contemplative questions, and a reflection section. The interactive element of the book also includes a space for journaling.

Tuttle created the book to cultivate hope in the lives of its readers, explaining "We all need to hope … especially if we are having a difficult time and don't see the light at the end of the tunnel. It is hard to feel hopeful when we are sad or feel overwhelmed. We can become so focused on our pain that hope seems impossible. There are some very simple, yet profound, ways to see hope."

As negativity can sometimes spread, joy can also be contagious to a person's friends and family, Tuttle explains. "Joy can help us find our inner strength and peace. It helps us be caring and thoughtful. People enjoy others who are positive; it's human nature."

Joining the Dance of Life has already been recommended for its graceful take on mental health and happiness.

"With this daily guide, Cindy glides us through our human challenges with a lightness of being akin to the joy of unrestrained dance. Through her poems and reflections we learn that with mindfulness, a kind heart, and love for our fellow beings, we have all of the instruments we need for a happy and fulfilled life."- Douglas D.
