I Know It's Christmastime, a new book by Cristina Aguila Llorente Drost with illustrations by Willi Red Buhay, has been released by RoseDog Books.

Based on the author's personal experiences and childhood recollections, this book gives readers, especially children, a feeling of Christmas traditions observed in the Philippines. Another goal of the book is to promote better understanding of the customs and traditions the Filipino children enjoy every Christmas.

Some of the traditions may vary from those of other Filipinos because of regional differences, but for the most part, traditions have Spanish origins. This is understandable because the Philippines were under Spanish rule for almost 400 years. Some traditions are also American in nature-the Philippines were a U.S. Commonwealth for fifty years.

Born and raised in Manila, Philippines, Cristina Aguila Llorente Drost obtained her bachelor of science in Education degree from Centro Escolar University in Manila, Philippines. As a Fulbright scholar, she obtained her Masters of Arts in Library Science at the University of Michigan and a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Notre Dame. Later, she decided to pursue the Certificate of Advanced Study with concentrations in Bilingual Education and English as a Second Language from the National Louis University in Illinois. She has broad experience as a librarian, having worked in college, high school, and elementary school libraries-both public and private.

For leisure, she loves to engage in research, enjoys playing the piano, and spends hours doing crossword puzzles.

I Know It's Christmastime is a 30-page hardcover with a retail price of $17.00. The ISBN is 978-1-4349-8021-2. RoseDog Books of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania published it.
