Online Video and Photo Contest 'filmpossible' is Back!

June 20, 2011 (PRLEAP.COM) Entertainment News
After last year's tremendous success, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital is delighted to launch filmpossible 2011. New this year, filmpossible is accepting photography entries as well as videos from June 20 - August 12.

We are looking for videos and photos that show us how kids with disabilities experience life, focusing on both the ordinary, and sometimes extraordinary. Entrants can be bold, tender or hilarious!

Grand prizes include $5000 for top video and $1000 for top photo. Winners are determined by a panel of celebrity judges, including Globe and Mail columnist, Ian Brown and singer/song writer, Justin Hines, as well as public voting.

"Many people do not have the opportunity to spend time with kids with physical or intellectual differences, and sometimes this lack of familiarity can lead to misunderstandings or false impressions," says Christa Haanstra, Chief of Communications and Public Affairs at Holland Bloorview, Canada's largest children's rehabilitation hospital. "That's why filmpossible challenges people to bring visibility to disability."

People everywhere can view and vote for their favourite entries online at www.filmpossible.ca. Cisco is donating $1 per vote cast to a maximum of $10,000 in Round One. Cisco will also award prizes to entrants who bring in the most votes in Round One.

What lens do you view childhood disability through? Make the world notice and win great prizes.

Filmpossible would like to acknowledge our generous sponsors: Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation, Cisco, Mars Canada, Gemsbok Technologies, Sportchek, The Keg and Starbuck's. All cash prizes are donated by our sponsors.
