'Scream! If You Know the Answer', the UK TV game show presented by Duncan James and narrated by Colin Murray, has recently launched a US version, to be taped at Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park in California.

One of the first British celebrity contestants to take part in the American production was renowned choreographer, theatrical director and Strictly Come Dancing judge, Craig Revel Horwood. He flew to LA this month on the weekend of the 17th to take part.

Mirroring its UK fame, the US show involves answering trivia quiz questions while being propelled on huge roller coasters around the Six Flags amusement park, which has a world record for offering no less than 18 coaster's.

Contestants consist of two teams of two people, one of each pair being a celebrity. A range of games are played, with four rounds completed each week to score points. The games are constructed to be both challenging and entertaining – it's not easy to think while flying around on a monstrous mechanical beats that defies the laws of gravity!

Although the games for the US version have not as yet been confirmed, the UK version which was filmed at Thorpe Park in Surrey involved some tricky antics. These include 'Queasy as ABC', where each team takes turns to give answers to a given category while riding either the Colossus or Nemesis Inferno roller coasters, 'Sum Like It Not' where the celebrity contingent of each team rides the Rush giant swing ride while their non-celebrity team mates on the ground hold up signs with fairly simple mathematical sums to be answered, and 'Together In Electric Screams' on the Quantum carpet ride, involving the celebrity balancing three cups of water while wired with electricity to gives them an electric shock if the non-celebrity accidentally touches a wire.

Since the US is well known for the length its entertainers are willing to go to push boundaries, the games they will create are sure to be just as hair raising, if not more.

The final round of the show, called Cash Dash, is earnt by the team with the most points after four games. Each player takes a separate ride and as they travel the course they have to name as many items from a given category as possible. The non-celebrity contestant has a chance to win £500 for every matching answer and there is a maximum prize of £5000 for the UK version.

With celebrities such as Craig Revel Horwood taking part and more to follow, the US version of Scream! If You Know the Answer is sure to attract an enthusiastic following, as with its UK counterpart.
