When ASCEND's original FBE minority firm providing traffic and engineering consulting services was purchased last year, SEI was selected as the most qualified FBE firm to take the position for the next 18 months. Teresa Epple, PE, PTOE and president of SEI states, "SEI has held strong in the marketplace as a woman-owned civil engineering and surveying firm. We're excited about the partnership with ASCEND because it will offer SEI a chance to prove that we're a small business with capabilities of a larger firm."

As a result of the City of Atlanta's EBO policies, SEI has had the opportunity to work with many of MHJAIA's top larger contractors such as CW Matthews, Turner Construction, New South and Winter Construction and have established a strong network of clients and referrals. "We've been working very hard for the past several years on the construction side at the world's busiest airport to prove capable, and, establish a good reputation." Teresa adds, "The ASCEND opportunity is significant to us and is a culmination of our entire staff's consistent efforts to produce only the highest quality work. As a company, we are very comfortable on the design side and look forward to working with the entire ASCEND team."
