July 6, 2011 / Savannah, Georgia - The Picking Sisters now have a response to the frequent request to join them as they travel the Southeast in search of vintage treasures. Friends, fans, customers and fellow pickers can now follow along as the sisters travel to small town festivals, highway sales and for the knick knacks, geegaws and whatnots they refer to as "other people's stuff" on their blog, http://pickingsistersweekly.blogspot.com

Favorite picks are 1950's toys, paint by numbers, books, home décor, postcards, and kitchen goodies from the 1930's- 1970's. Everything comes back to their Savannah, GA barn and then the majority of the finds end up on their etsy.com site, www.etsy.com/shop/mysistersbarn. Etsy sales have included customers in Israel, Canada, Australia, and Hawaii.

Most weekends and vacations are planned around thrift shops, garage sales and flea markets. While they may occasionally stumble on to a valuable antique, their search is more about the fun of discovering an inexpensive find with great patina or amazing history. Sometimes the packaging is as desirable as the contents. Sometimes a find is just perfect for reuse for one of the sisters; like a record rack for displaying postcards or a ceramic Milkbone cookie jar for dog biscuits. The blog takes you inside the sisters' homes to see where some of the goodies find a home.
