DirectRooms.com reports that one of the most competitive beach volleyball tournaments will be making a return to Africa in the form of the FIVB Beach Volleyball Swatch World Tour.

The event, which is due to run at the beginning of October, will be the first time the competition has been held in the continent since 2005 and will be played on the Moroccan beaches of Agadir.

The tour features some of the finest players in the world and the games in Morocco make a total of 18 tournaments as part of the series. These are made up of a World Championship and six Grand Slams and six mixed Opens as well as five Opens for all male or female teams. Other stages of the tour will be in Beijing, which was a host back in 2008 around the Olympic Games, and Canada which will see players competing in one of the double gender Opens.

The weather for the event is expected to be good as Morocco has around 300 days of sun each year on average and plenty of space to set up the courts as the beaches stretch for about 3,500 kilometres.

Sports fans looking to catch the games can see them from 4th to 9th October 2011 although people looking for Agadir hotels, especially near the beach where the games are, may find difficulty when it comes to book.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com commented: "As a major competition many spectators are going to be taking up rooms so the advice is to make reservations as early as possible."
