DirectRooms.com announces that the Dresden City Festival will be taking over the city again this August as more than 500,000 visitors come to watch the diverse range of cultural and artistic performances.

This year's festival will focus on the theme 'Encounter Cultures' and will have a broad international flavour with the city's cosmopolitan population showcasing the exciting aspects of each of their cultures.

Shows will be in the form of music, dance and many other performing arts to present the highlights of the individual cultures. The music scene in particular will be truly international with Irish folk concerts, mambo, reggae, salsa and even gospel music.

Foodies can admire and indulge in the flavours from countries such as Russia, France and Hungary from the abundance of food stalls and there'll be markets selling a selection of imported specialities to cook at home. Added to the food is more entertainment such as medieval jousting displays and a rowing regatta on the river.

The festival will take place over ten main areas in the city from 19th to 21st August 2011 and the evening is just as lively with local DJs, live concerts, street artists displaying skilled acrobatics and even arts classes on pottery, glass blowing and wood carving.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com commented: "With nearly half a million people coming for the festival finding a hotel Dresden with a vacancy isn't going to be easy. Visitors should search online and book places immediately as the majority of hotels will become fully booked."
