DirectRooms.com reports that as the Islamic holy month of Ramadan comes to a close around the end of August changes to some services are likely in Legian.

The end of Ramadan is celebrated by Muslims with a festival known as Eid ul Fitr and many people use the occasion as a holiday. Government offices, banks and many businesses will be closed in Indonesia and in some places this will be for as long as a week.

The celebrations hold such a significant importance as they mark the end to the month of fasting and families will typically join together for a large feast.

Having previously been restricted to only being able to eat at specific times of the day, the festival is usually a time when people can enjoy the foods that they might not have been able to during Ramadan.

Popular places like Legian with its many attractions are often much busier which can make finding hotels in Legian Beach difficult. The start of Eid will be determined by the sighting of the new moon which is due to be around 30th August 2011.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com commented: "Bookings at hotels are usually on the rise as Eid ul Fitr takes place and more people take time off during the holiday. All visitors planning a trip to Legian or other popular areas will need to make sure they plan their hotel stay early in order to avoid disappointment."
