Digital sheet music retailer Great Scores now offers scores in Adobe Flash Player format

Great Scores announced today that alongside their existing repertoire of digital sheet music in Sibelius Scorch format, they now also offer a selection of scores in Adobe Flash Player format.

Since its launch in 2003 Great Scores has offered customers the option of printing sheet music directly to their printer using the Scorch plug-in, develop by Sibelius. Now an increasing number of scores will be available in Adobe Flash format. As with Scorch arrangements, users will be able to preview the first page of any piece of music before the purchase. The added universality and acceptance of Adobe Flash Player should be an advantage to users looking for sheet music quickly, as most users will already have the plug-in installed. Although Scorch offers the advantage of increased functionality through playback and transposition functions, Great Scores realise that some users, especially those who are new to the site, will desire a quick way to preview the sheet music they want to purchase, without having to first install a plug-in - a minor drawback all online digital sheet music retailers have to deal with.

"Having scores also available in Adobe Flash Player Format alongside our traditional Sibelius Scorch offerings can only be an advantage to our users" says Grahame Davies, director at Great Scores. "New users who come to the site for the first time can now instantly see a piece of sheet music without having to first install a plug-in. This is a great bonus and fits in well alongside our sheet music repertoire in Scorch format"

Both the Scorch as well as the Flash based scores are continually increasing in numbers, with new scores added every week in every genre.

"Whether you are looking for up to date chart tunes, such as the latest Adele sheet music or prefer to play more classic hits, such as Beatles sheet music, there is now a wider choice for the customer with regards to the download format the sheet music comes in" concludes Grahame Davies.
