Friday, July 15, 2011, La Jolla, California, USA, neXva, an application store marketplace and solutions provider for free, freemium and premium mobile applications proudly announces the launch of a first of its kind mobile applications store, Airtel Application World with Airtel, Sri Lanka.

Powered by neXva, Airtel launched its very own, Airtel Application World. Packed with thousands of applications across all major OSs, this hub of applications is accessible to all Airtel clients initially on a complimentary basis.

"In order to meet Airtel's goal of familiarizing its customers with the available applications, a plan was developed to launch quickly and only with free or freemium content. Offering some of the most competitive data rates in the world, Airtel's objective is to whet the appetites of their base. This strategy seems very clever and will follow with premium content and operator billing in time." Says Brian J. Friedman CEO of neXva about the strategy behind the Airtel/neXva tie up.

Amali Nanayakkara, CEO & MD, Bharti Airtel Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, stated "The digitisation of entertainment, education and personal aides via mobile applications presents us with an opportunity to delight our customers which is at the core of what we do. The rapid deployment of this hub of applications enables us to bring our customers closer to entertainment and personal development with speed, scale and agility. We thank neXva for supporting us in our promise to enrich the lives of our customers."

Mobile applications are accessed via Airtel's mobile internet site (WAP) which is either pre-installed or push installed on devices when they join the network. Applications are then discovered using a suite of discovery tools that assist the user to find what they are looking for.

"Due to the large number of gray phones in this developing market it was important to have a solution that was multi OS and content rich. Our SAAS cloud based solution built around the neXngin device recognition and CMS was chosen because it is so fast to roll out and allows a partner like Airtel to offer their customers world class content expeditiously." declares Shaun Zelber COO of neXva.
