Family puts the Fun Factor into a Holiday – Fact!

If you're planning a summer trip but are yet to book anything, take heed – spending time together as a family is the most important ingredient of a fun holiday, a survey from outdoor holiday specialist Keycamp has revealed.

Back home, more than 80 per cent of respondents wish their lives were generally more fun, with fewer than 40 per cent rating their daily fun levels at seven out of ten or above. When it comes to being on holiday, however, this rises dramatically to just under 90 per cent.

Dave McKenna, head of brand at Keycamp, explains further: "Once away, it's all about quality time together. Be sure to go for a trip that is flexible and can work at all levels to get you and the family truly engaged, whether that's an action-packed adventure where the activities are on tap, or somewhere where you can relax and wind down together."

While away, the games console is well and truly put to bed, with the likelihood of it making an appearance cut by two thirds. Meanwhile, the odds of going on a walk together are increased by 50 per cent; the chances of sitting down and having a good old chat are upped by over a third; and families are four times more likely to play a sport together.

Keycamp self catering holidays are designed to provide maximum fun for the whole family, from tots to teens, while flexible travel and accommodation options mean you can tailor your camping trip to meet your needs. Even better, there are some fantastic high season deals on offer currently, with savings of up to 30 per cent at some parcs.
