Gaylord Security Reports an Increasing Number of Clients Using Cell Guard® Technology Instead of Traditional Landlines

Gaylord Security, an ADT authorized dealer, has reported that, in recent years, an increasing number of homeowners are using cellular-based home security systems as opposed to traditional landline-based technologies.

This shift can be attributed to two factors. The first factor is primarily that cellular-based security systems make it impossible for experienced burglars to prevent communication with monitoring centers by cutting phone lines. The second factor is that more and more people are using their cell phones and cancelling their traditional home phones.

"In the past, intruders could simply cut phone lines so that home security systems couldn't alert monitoring centers of a break in," said Patrick Smith, Marketing Manager of Gaylord Security. "But with newer cellular technology, we can outsmart burglars and make homes safer than before."

Instead of using landlines, cellular-based home security systems work by utilizing cell towers to transmit signals to security monitoring centers once a break-in is detected.

"Cellular security systems are a very natural evolution for home security," said Smith. "It's definitely a sign that the home security industry is keeping up with changes in technology."
