Songs of Life and Love, a new book by Umiokalani, has been released by RoseDog Books.

The poems of Umiokalani are ethereal, also for meditation, while others are about animals, nature, and people. Overall the poems are humorous, serious, romantic, and about traveling abroad.

Umiokalani is Hawaiian and Jewish on the father's side. She is Swedish, Scottish, and French on her mother's side. She is one of those "real Americans."

On the Scottish side, she is a direct descendant from Robert Burns, the poet from Scotland. Of course, as everyone knows, Hawaiians are into music and dance, the Swedish and French are into music, and the Jewish are into dancing and singing.

Umiokalani was born in Los Angeles, California, and spent time in San Mateo, California, for grammar school, attended high school, and went on to the Academy of Art, a commercial art school in San Francisco, California. She spent some time becoming educated on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, and in Oregon.

She married twice; one was a Native American, and the other is a Mexican.

Recently, Umiokalani started to write a novella, and she hopes to publish it sometime in the future.

Songs of Life and Love is a 168-page paperback with a retail price of $19.00. The ISBN is 978-1-4349-8483-8. RoseDog Books of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania published it.
