Santa Monica, CA, August 10, 2011 – Communication Arts magazine recognized celebrity photographer Michael Grecco for excellence in photography for portrait of Director Martin Scorsese for Dilema magazine cover. Winning entries for this prestigious competition are selected by a nationally representative jury of distinguished designers, art directors, and photographers.

The entries appear in the July/August 2011 issue of the Communication Arts Photography Annual and on their website at www.commarts.com. As a service to art directors, designers, and art buyers, a comprehensive index will provide contact information for the photographers represented. "CA's Award of Excellence is one of the most coveted awards in the industry," states the magazine's website. "Winning places those chosen in the highest ranks of their profession. Ask any creative director which competitions rank as the most influential, and they'll place Communication Arts at the top of the list."

About Michael Grecco:
After a defining stint in photojournalism at the Boston Herald, Michael Grecco realized that, while he loved documenting his real-life and 80s music subjects on the fly, he wanted to explore his interest in directing people in a more controlled environment. Of course, the prospect of warmer climates and proximity to an industry that had a lot of interesting subjects proved to be an attractive impetus for moving west.
