Hotels-Paris.co.uk - Paris Autumn Festival embraces contemporary arts

In 1972, Michel Guy set up the Paris Autumn Festival to showcase the best Parisian contemporary arts, including theatre, dance, music and cinema. With the support of President Georges Pompidou, whose fondness for contemporary art is attested by the iconic gallery which bears his name, the festival became an annual event.

Running from September 17th through until the end of the year, the festival still enjoys the support of the French Ministry of Culture and Communication, Paris City Council, the Regional Council of Greater Paris and several sponsors.

This enables the Paris Autumn Festival to lay on a fabulous programme of around 60 events held in various venues across Paris, including iconic buildings such as Musée d'Orsay, Cité de la Musique and La Cinémathèque Française.

The event is a non-profit affair that simply seeks to encourage talented artists to create extraordinary and original work. Up to 100,000 people visit in total each year across all the events, so it is certainly worth paying them a visit.

Hotels-paris.co.uk has plenty of boutique hotels that will prove an ideal base for anyone trying to see as much of the festival as possible. Pershing Hall is just one of the many options available.
