LateRooms.com - Rome venue prepares to stage Ben Hur Live

August 20, 2011 (PRLEAP.COM) Travel News
Ben Hur Live is due to arrive in the Italian capital on Friday September 30th.

The production, which was showered with critical praise when it debuted at London's O2 Arena in 2009, will run until late November at the Nuova Fiera Rome.

Based on the 1880 novel by Lew Wallace, the show includes a high-speed chariot race and a dramatic naval battle, among other scenes likely to leave audience members on the edge of their seats.

It also features a soundtrack by American musician Stewart Copeland, the former drummer of The Police.

Ben Hur, the epic film starring Charlton Heston, remains the most famous adaptation of Wallace's book.

Released in 1959, it received 11 Academy Awards and is regularly named among the greatest movies of all time.

However, Ben Hur Live has gained a reputation as a thrilling spectacle in its own right.

The production has now been staged in front of huge crowds in London, Hamburg, Munich, Stuttgart and Zurich.

Tickets for the Rome show can be purchased online, ranging in price from €20.10 to €134.50 (£17.60 to £117.90).

People planning to enjoy the show will find a variety of 5 star hotels in Rome at LateRooms.com, which recommends the Sheraton Roma Rome.
