IMS, a leading provider of software for tracking implantable tissue and devices, has released Version 3.5 of its ReadyTracker® - Tissue application. The new version simplifies the management of implants, whether for a single hospital or an entire healthcare system.

"Ready Tracker - Tissue has already set the standard for using bar-code technology to track bone, tissue, and implanted devices," said Whitney Ligon, director of corporate software for IMS. "Version 3.5 offers new security features designed specifically for hospital networks. And it adds a number of single-click options to save precious time for the surgical team."

New features include:

  • New "Reserved" Status – Allows tissue / implants to be reserved for upcoming cases. Items show up in inventory as green.
  • Advanced "Bulk Item" Management Features – Provides a simple way to transfer, reserve, issue, implant, or delete items in bulk. Vendor notifications and transaction recaps also can be produced in bulk – with all information still shown on individual history reports.
  • Instant access to Package Inserts and Special Instructions – Stores package inserts and manufacturers' instructions within the ReadyTracker - Tissue platform, ready to be accessed at any time.
  • Updated New / Edit Inventory screen – Provides a streamlined, user-friendly data flow for adding new items to inventory or updating inventory status.
  • Print History Button – Enables instant viewing and printing of an item's history report from the Home screen, showing all activity since the item entered the facility.
  • Enhanced User Security – Enables administrator to assigns various levels of access to different facilities within a healthcare network.

  • "Hospitals throughout the country already use ReadyTracker - Tissue to help them meet Joint Commission and FDA standards as well as to prevent the expiration of donated tissue. It enhances accuracy, simplifies the recall process and eliminates the need for paper files, binders, and logs," Ligon said.

"In addition, as hospitals are required to automate more and more data, they need single-click tools to make this possible. Not only does ReadyTracker - Tissue provide this for the management of implants, it prepares them for Unique Device Identification (UDI) requirements taking effect in the near future."
