Chin's Mojo raises over $ 2500 through online fan community

Dallas rock band "Chin's Mojo" has performed regionally for several years, developing its own sound and testing innovative ways to distribute rock music as an "indie" - without a record label. The band operates a full time recording studio, travels with two dozen lights and effects for live performances, funded and produced a CD release and most recently self funded a music video for their song, "Roller Coaster".

Chin's Mojo singer Tom Jordan remarked, "Playing in an original band means you have a lot to prove, and the music business isn't as robust as it once was for developing new music. The internet changes how people discover music and how bands provide music. Our band has been effective by applying innovation, reaching further to expand our community in live performances and online."

When the "Roller Coaster" music video was released in September, 2011 - Chin's Mojo launched an online campaign to raise funds for the next video. People could watch the "Roller Coaster" music video and donate money to make the next music video for the band's original song, "Drowning Man".

Tom said, "Public reaction to our Roller Coaster music video surprised us because we didn't expect so many new people would embrace it. These folks also heard our other songs and felt compelled to fund the next music video, enabling us to get started on it right away, rather than funding it ourselves. The new relationship between our band producing content and our fans financially supporting a future project creates growth. Establishing that relationship and delivering great content took more than just talent. Many musicians have talent, but not many original bands are expanding like we are. It takes the right song and the right combination of people."

Within 22 days of the first video's release, the "Drowning Man" funding reached $ 2500. The campaign was successfully concluded less than one month from the initial video's release date. The band expects to complete filming for the new video in the next 90 days.
