Hong Kong visitors will be able to see some tournament-level badminton taking place during the Hong Kong Open 2011.
 
Part of the Badminton World Federation's Super Series calendar, the open takes place between November 15th and 20th and will see more than 200 of the world's top players participating.
 
Hong Kong's Major Sports Events Committee recognises the Hong Kong Open as one of the leading sporting fixtures in the region, with competition likely to be fierce as players vie for a prize pot of $250,000 (£162,400).
 
The knock-out contest features men's and women's singles divisions, as well as men's and women's doubles and mixed doubles events, with competitors hailing from more than 20 countries and regions around the globe.
 
Those who are interested in attending can travel to the Hong Kong Coliseum and purchase tickets for HK$40 to HK$80 (£3.30 to £6.70), while entry to the first day of play is free.
 
According to the Hong Kong Badminton Association, fans will be able to book their tickets in advance from October 20th onwards.
