Korean War Letters from a Lieutenant and His Bride, a new book by Larry Knowles, has been released by Dorrance Publishing Co., Inc.

The theme of this book is to portray the experiences of a young soldier in the Army during the last year of the Korean War, from June 1952 to June 1953. Some of this time was spent in combat against Chinese Communists. This account also delves into the life of his young bride, who gave birth to their daughter while he was overseas. It describes the stress they both endured, wondering if they would ever see each other again. Larry feared that she and the baby might not survive childbirth, and was more concerned about this than about the risks of combat. Despite this, Larry still feared being killed, never experiencing the joy of raising his family.

The experiences through the eyes of a young soldier are told: getting to Korea, events overseas, returning to the United States, the joyful ending of the separation from his wife, and getting acquainted with their infant daughter. The book also describes point of view of those on the home front, the love and care of those closest to a young woman as she approached motherhood for the first time, and her happiness of being a mother.

Changing Hands Kung Fu is a 504-page paperback with a retail price of $34.00. The ISBN is 978-1-4349-0814-8. Dorrance Publishing Co., Inc of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania published it.
