New York, NY - October 31, 2011 Amy Trompetter, founder of the activist puppet company, Redwing Blackbird Theater(http://redwingblackbirdtheater.com) plans to show her support for the Occupy Wall Street movement. Redwing is seeking to enlist 150 volunteers to carry puppets and support signs acting as America's "99%" in the annual Halloween Parade in Manhattan's Greenwich Village. The march will be used to tell the story of the current movement with the use of puppets handmade by the puppet company.

The demonstration will feature puppet "Uncle Fatso", who represents the ill-famed 1% of the wealthiest U.S. citizens along with the "Champagne Drinkers" as they dance on the pains of the 99%. In the mid-portion of the performance, the "99%" puppets will reverse the corporate coup d'état and bring Mother Earth to the led position where animals and birds will dance to the music of The Drunkard's Wife Band and celebrate the encampments of Occupy Wall Street globally.

"Puppetry can speak volumes without the use of words. Theater at its most useful is a public forum which illuminates what can become obscured, even when it is staring us right in the face" says director and artist Amy Trompetter.

Anyone who wishes to join with the Redwing Blackbird Theater can meet Amy Trompetter on Monday Oct. 31 at 5 PM at Juan Pablo Sq. between Grand St. and Canal St. on 6th Ave. or email her at amy@blackbirdtheater.com.

Amy Trompetter runs an activist puppet company, Redwing Blackbird Theater, in Rosendale, NY located in the Mid-Hudson valley. For the past 40 years, she has led communities in large outdoor pageants and indoor performances in Italy, France, Nicaragua, Mexico, Botswana, Japan, China, Bangladesh, Thailand, and Burma.
