Visitors to Barcelona will be able to see some of the finest images of the past year when the World Press Photo exhibition arrives in the city.
 
Due to open at the Centre de Cultura Contemporania de Barcelona on Wednesday November 23rd, the display is designed to showcase the very best in creative photojournalism.
 
The exhibition embarks on a global tour each year after the World Press Photo contest, allowing people around the world to enjoy the most haunting, poignant and beautiful images of the previous 12 months.
 
Described by the organisers as "an eyewitness record of world events", the show is highly popular with professional snappers, photography fans and the general public.
 
It will run in Barcelona until Sunday December 18th, with admission priced at €5 (£4.30).
 
The Centre de Cultura Contemporania is open between 11:00 and 20:00 Tuesday to Sunday, except on Thursdays when it does not close until 22:00.
 
Other cities due to host the World Press Photo exhibition in the run-up to Christmas include Innsbruck in Austria, Ljubljana in Slovenia and Naples in Italy.
