Yourcarehome.co.uk launched in 2008 by founders Mark and Helen Sadler with one simple aim: To make the process of finding a care home for the elderly easier and quicker.

In the last three years the UK based website has grown to become one of the most successful websites in it's area, and now displays details of almost 2,000 care homes, including more than 20 of the largest care home groups in the UK. The website has benefited from three facelifts in that time, and is constantly adding new information and advice much of which has been created specifically for the yourcarehome.co.uk website.

Around 12,000 people a month in the UK move into a care home, and there are around 450,000 people living in care homes for the elderly in the UK, a figure which is expected to rise to 1,200,000 by 2056.

50% of people moving into a care home do so as a direct result of a hospital stay which naturally causes a great deal of stress and anguish for themselves, their family and, or their carers.

Mark Sadler said "All care homes listed on yourcarehome.co.uk have an equal opportunity to present themselves. We do not have enhanced or preferential listings or any dummy listings, and all care homes should have several photos. We believe in making our search results as honest as possible, and we always recommend that people view as many care homes as they can, and take a checklist of questions to ask."

The yourcarehome team aim to help more and more people through this stressful time by adding more features, more information and of course more care homes, throughout the coming year.
