The most awaited silver bullion series issued by the Royal Canadian Mint, the Canadian Silver Cougar coin was launched this week in Australia by Gold De Royale, Australia's prominent silver bullion dealer.

"Demand for the Canadian silver bullion wildlife series is very popular among silver bullion investors in Australia. We've had customers pre-booking orders since August 2011 to acquire this masterpiece", said George Vo, Sales Manager of Gold De Royale.

The 2012 bullion Cougar silver coin has a mintage of one million coins and is composed of 999.9 fine silver with a weight of one ounce.

The coin was designed by William Woodruff and depicts the Canadian Cougar with its front paws perched on a fallen branch of a tree. The obverse of the coin shows Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. It also shows the face value of the coin which is CAD $5 and the date of 2012.

The 2012 Cougar silver coin marks the third of a total of six to be created by the Royal Canadian Mint for the Canadian wildlife bullion coin series.

The first to appear in the series was the 2011 Canadian Silver Bullion Wolf Coin, which was a huge sell-out in Australia. This was followed by the 2011 Grizzly Silver Bullion Coin. The fourth strike will appear in 2012 with the remaining two to feature 2013 dates.

The Royal Canadian Mint is recognized by London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) as an acceptable Good Delivery Refiner, a recognition given to some of the world's best silver refiners.
