Michigan-based Spartan Internet, provider of online marketing consulting services, continues its widely acclaimed SIPP Index for the 2012 presidential election.

Currently holding the top two positions on the SIPP Index are Ron Paul (30.9%) and Newt Gingrich (28.5%). The biggest mover of the week, for the third week in a row, was Newt Gingrich. Newt moved down, this time by 1.70%, leaving him in the second spot on the SIPP Index holding 28.5% of the internet market share, 2.40% behind Ron Paul. Ron Paul gained 1.6% this week vaulting him to the top position in the SIPP.

Mitt Romney won the Nevada Caucus and continues to rise on the SIPP Index. Mitt Romney has been steadily rising for the past 2 weeks because of both his Florida Primary and Nevada Caucus wins. If the trends continue, Mitt will pass Newt on the SIPP Index, just as he did in the polls.

Spartan Internet has leveraged its web expertise to objectively develop the SIPP Index to quantify 650 relevant factors into a single representative score for each candidate's overall internet market share out of 100%. The 650 factors are derived from numeric values from across the Internet such as social networks, candidate websites, and blogs, news media and search engines. The resulting score is indicative of each candidates overall online ability to reach individuals and connect on key issues.
