Tips for Raising a Happy Child, a new book by Stella Alexandre, has been released by RoseDog Books.

Stella Alexandre was born on September 28, 1925, in Seattle, Washington. On her 45th birthday, she was given the opportunity to teach at an elementary school in San Mateo, CA, which she continued for 23 years. Alexandre successfully designed and managed the Multi-Age Program for 3 years at San Mateo Park School, grades 1-5.

In 1981, she received a Bank America Foundation Grant, which enabled her to produce six videotaped oral histories and a resource guidebook that are used together in the classroom. This project was the winner of the J. Russell Kent Award.

In 1983, Alexandre received a Whitney Foundation Grant. The project involved senior center residents from Park Tower as pen pals and mentors.

Ms. Alexandre's writing career spans several years. From 1987 to 1988, she authored Fall Days, Holiday Lingo and Winter Days, Holiday Lingo. In 1987, she created five calendars. In 1997, Alexandre penned Tips for Talking about Tough Situations with Middle Grade Students at School. This book was written because of the impact these topics have on youngsters and their parents.
