One of the most renowned landmarks of Donostia-San Sebastían, Hotel de Londres y de Ingleterra, is undergoing renovation during the months January and February of this year. It is upgrading the entire hard-infrastructure of the building, back-of-house and hotel rooms to meet the needs of todays modern traveller.

The historic building of the Hotel de Londres has to be renovated to stay up to date with the expectations of the clientele. Not only the decoration but also the technical support of the hotel will be totally renewed. The hotel will of course keep its classic and stylish image. Six rooms will be specially adapted to make them high tech hotel rooms. One of these adapted rooms will be equipped according to a SPRI project, carried out by TECNALIA, called DENHOTEL.

This is a pilot project in which the room is all domotic, from the lights, curtains and opening the doors. All can be managed from a Tablet, which is in the room, or from the mobile client. The whole hotel will get repainted and refurnished. Hotel de Londres wants to continue to offer their guests great comfort while they visit San Sebastian. At the beginning of 2013, the hotel will be closed again for the second phase of the renovation. A sixth floor will be added with 11 rooms, each with its individual terrace, offering a beautiful view above San Sebastian in Spain.
