MICHAEL GRECCO JOINS KINSEY INSTITUTE ART COLLECTION: Commercial Photographer's Work Inducted Into Collection Holding More Than 2,000 Years of Human History

March 8, 2012 - Bloomington, Indiana - The Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender, and Reproduction collection of Indiana University invited Michael Grecco's project to be part of their historical and educational archive and are currently exhibiting several of Grecco's images from his adult industry documentary project.

The Kinsey Institute was founded in 1947, just before publication of Sexual Behavior in the Human Male in1948, by pioneering sex researcher Dr. Alfred C. Kinsey.

The Marian University Art Gallery will display images of tattoo art from the Kinsey Institute Collection, including five prints from Michael Grecco's NAKED AMBITION body of work, in an exhibit that will run February 20th-March 23rd.
"We had a standing-room-only crowd at the opening," stated Johnson-Roehr who also lectured at the event. Entitled Ephemeral Ink, the show was curated by Amy Tims and will feature images of tattoos and tattooing from the beginning of the twentieth century through the twenty-first century.

"I'm so very proud to be included in such a historical collection housed by one of the most progressive institutes in America," says Grecco.

The Marian University Art Gallery is located on the first floor of Fisher Hall at 3200 Cold Spring Road in Indianapolis. Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays, although appointments at later times are welcome.
