Rent-A-Center, Inc. (NASDAQ/NGS: RCII) made a donation of a group of electronics products to Bennington's Applegate Housing to support the non-profit center on March 15, 2012. Rent-A-Center's donation included a large-screen HDTV, two gaming consoles, and seven computers and is part of its "Random Acts of Caring" philanthropic effort, which it initiated in 2008.

Kim Funck, Applegate Housing's executive director, said, "Due to a very generous donation from Rent-A-Center, Applegate Housing is able to expand its educational, creative, and recreational programming. It is because of generous supportive individuals at Rent-A-Center that our community continues to enrich the lives of many individuals and families."

Applegate Housing, Inc., assists the elderly, adolescents, families, youth, and individuals with essential resident services. Applegate will employ the Rent-A-Center donations in its recently-completed Resident Center, where Bennington County community members participate in seminars, activities, and workshops.

"We selected Applegate Housing in recognition of this organization's important work in meeting the needs and improving the lives of residents in Bennington County," Xavier Dominicis, Rent-A-Center's vice president of public affairs, said. "Today's Random Act of Caring marks the eightieth act undertaken since Rent-A-Center launched this initiative to support the communities it serves."
