QubeGB is delighted to announce its continued support of the Aberdeen Asset Management Melrose Sevens rugby tournament as the media centre sponsor in 2012. This year looks set to be as exciting as the last, with 20 Scottish clubs involved and four visiting teams that include the Bay of Plenty from New Zealand, London Scottish, Hong Kong Scottish, and Singapore.

QubeGB, a company that provides client-responsive telecommunications engineering services, is expecting some nail-bitingly close matches ahead, with the Scottish teams set to fight hard to keep the trophy on home soil.

The Aberdeen Asset Management Melrose Sevens is the best supported tournaments in the Kings of the Sevens league competition. Melrose RFC founded the sport of Rugby Sevens and hosted the first Sevens tournament in 1883, only six years after the club's formation in 1877. The much-loved Sevens game is now played both at international and club level. Every four years, countries from all over the world compete for the Sevens World Cup trophy, fittingly named the Melrose Cup.

Qube GB is proud to be associated with the Melrose Sevens as a prestigious tournament. Darren Bunker, Managing Director, is keen to see what happens after kick-off. "We are all big rugby fans at QubeGB and look forward to being part of the crowd of 12,000 expected at Greenyards on April 14th 2012, the home of Melrose Rugby Club."

Thousands of fans are expected to cram the streets and pubs of Melrose, a picturesque Scottish borders town. The five-hour rugby extravaganza will also be broadcast by the BBC.

How does Qube GB expect the day to develop? "If it's like last year's final between Hamilton and Melrose, it will be a riveting close to the day." explains Bunker. "Each year the competition strengthens."

QubeGB is also looking forward to seeing the hundreds of people who turn out in fancy dress to celebrate the competition. Every year the costumes become more and more elaborate – a testament to the engagement of crowds with the spirit of the day.
