Women and Things at Rest, a new book by Annette Meyer, has been released by RoseDog Books.

Women and things at rest
are not always restful.
Angry…Confused…Impatient…or…Sad.
Things at rest may be
Askew…Crowded…Irritating…or…Bad.
No indication here of loud complaints.
Utter silence pervades each scene.
Without voice, inhabitants may suffer
Or burst through their paper trails
To haunt the viewer with
Insinuating lines…vivid colors…and…stirring memories.

About the Author

The only time you might find Annette Meyer at rest would be during an hour or two spent watching old movies on DVD. A movie buff since childhood, best-loved actors include Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe and Cary Grant.

Movies have not directly inspired the work of the author, but the behavior and actions of the movie artists and their stories have. Facial expressions of Robin Williams in Dead Poets Society, or the body attitudes of Dustin Hoffman in Tootsie, or the heart strings plucked by love of the earth, named Tara, in Gone with the Wind have been several of those inspirations.

In Women and Things at Rest, the features of the face and the lines of the body form the script, while the colors are used to punctuate the drama of the pictured tale. A few more works available through RoseDog and written by Annette Meyer, who conjures personal insights on life, include Close Up, Inside/Outside and AM 10 to July.

Women and Things at Rest is a 42-page paperback with a retail price of $17.00. The ISBN is 978-1-4349-8748-8. It was published by RoseDog Books of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
