As of February 2012, the Netherlands will have its own independent branch of the Association of Serviced Apartment Providers (ASAP). The British-based ASAP has endorsed the foundation of the independent Dutch branch.

The purpose of the association (ASAPNL) is to promote the role of the Dutch serviced apartment industry through increased awareness whilst maintaining the highest standards. The ASAPNL will be collaborating with different organs such as expat organizations, local governments and HR departments of several multinationals to create a communication platform between these different branches. Furthermore the ASAPNL will provide direction, regulation and advice and will be assisting consumers by creating a quality standard for serviced apartments.

The ASAPNL members started gathering in 2010 in an attempt to create a more professional atmosphere for the sector. They wanted to create a discussion platform where they could share information on regulation, tourism taxation and marketing challenges. According to the members, this forum helped them to exchange views on the industry and debate issues.

At present the ASAPNL represents approximately 500 Dutch apartments. The organization estimates to represent approximately 1000 properties by the end 2012. The ASAPNL plans to expand its membership further and wants to evolve into the central discussion platform for serviced apartments within the Netherlands.
