Emotionsphotobook.com kicks off its Emotions Photo Reference Illustration Art Contest
May 15, 2012 Entertainment News
(PRLEAP.COM) Emotionsphotobook.com, home to the artist's reference book, launched a contest challenging all artists including comic artists, illustrators, concept artists, and animators to submit their best artwork referencing the emotions photo book for their facial expressions. At the contest site, 4 model photos are offered demonstrating the facial expressions: indignation, cruelty, fear, and anger. The challenge is to create a completed artwork utilizing one or more of the provided reference photos."We wanted to promote the book by creating this call to artists to see how they could re-imagine this reference material in their own artwork," said Patrick Wong, graphic designer for Emotionsphotobook.com. "The idea for the book was simple - if you needed to reference sadness for an artwork, you could quickly do so and find 20 models expressing that in 3 different views."
Three prizes will be awarded to the top entries.
The contest is officially underway on June 1, 2012 and ending on September 20, 2012 - but they're encouraging entries right away to the contest gallery.
