A lucky couple from Motherwell found themselves the proud owners of a brand new Audi A1 after winning a prize draw in support of Yorkhill Children's Foundation.

The event was held at Glasgow Audi and the winning ticket was picked out by Jenny Cook, eight, who has been receiving treatment at Yorkhill Hospital since she was four. Brian White and Liz Henderson were handed the keys to their new car on Monday 14th May by radio presenter Robin Galloway.

Over 33,000 people entered the competition, raising over £35,000 for the charity, which funds innovative medical equipment, paediatric research, patients and family support and many other services vital to the care and wellbeing of sick children and infants throughout Scotland.

The Grand Prize Draw is a first for Yorkhill Children's Foundation, who are delighted with the event's success. An initial target of £30,000 was set, which this has been smashed thanks to the generous support of Audi enthusiasts across Scotland. The car was donated by Lomond Audi Group, who are supporting Yorkhill as their 2012 charity of the year.

Joining Brian and Liz when they collected their prize were several children and their families who have been involved with the campaign over the past ten weeks, raising awareness of the work carried out by the charity.

In a statement on their website, the Yorkhill Children's Foundation said, "Although only one family was able to win, the generous donations and fundraising efforts of the public will allow us to continue to help sick children from all over Scotland and beyond in the future.

"A massive thank you to everyone who took part in the Grand Prize Draw 2012!"
