Mikimoto (http://www.mikimoto.co.uk/) – the leading Japanese pearl jewellery house – has launched a unique UK campaign to celebrate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee.

The company, that was created in Japan over a century ago by founder Kokichi Mikimoto (creator of the world's first cultured pearl), has gone to the extraordinary length of creating not one but two Jubilee themed crowns (in cooperation with Harrods, London), and an extravagant pearl and diamond tiara widow display at their UK store in London.

The majestic crowns are entitled 'Treasure of the Sea'. The Glass Coral Crown is to be showcased in Harrods' specially commissioned window display between Tuesday 15th May and Friday 15th June. Mikimoto commissioned Japanese Designer, Tomoko Shimpo, to create the crowns, which are said to represent the nurturing of small lives under the ocean.

The second crown features a glass ball with a nod to the famous The Birth of Venus painting, and has been on display at Mikimoto's New Bond Street store since 9th May. The exterior sea blue colour with a fragile gold leaf interior, represents the brightness of our lives on this great blue planet.

The regal celebrations haven't stopped there: also currently showing at the New Bond Street store is a specially designed window display showcasing two Mikimoto Pearl and Diamond Tiaras.

The pearl tiaras were flown in especially from Japan for the occasion. Delicately designed with love hearts and ribbons, they feature Mikimoto's famed cultured Akoya pearls and diamonds. Each tiara is also displayed on a regal purple silk cushion, drawn by purple horses with silver reigns – making for a very lavish celebratory piece.

Further Diamond Jubilee celebrations have been present on Mikimoto's blog, which is currently showcasing a host of royal related articles, including a celebration of the Queen's visit to Mikimoto's own Pearl Island back in 1975, with exclusive imagery.

The company has also recently appeared in a range of Diamond Jubilee articles in high profile magazines. Tatler's Diamond Jubilee Collector's Edition featured Mikimoto's pearl brooch in their editorial spread, and the June edition of Harrods magazine included Mikimoto's pearl tiara in their special Jubilee feature, photographed by renowned photographer, Rankin.

This celebration of the Queen and British Monarchy by the Japanese based company, a world leader in the design of pearl jewellery that's synonymous with superior quality, has certainly highlighted their very special affiliation with the UK.
