New Uni-Flow Plunger Delivers the Benefits of a Ball and Sleeve Plunger in a One-Piece Design

June 02, 2012 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Frederick, CO, June 2, 2012 - Production Control Services Inc. (PCS) recently introduced the new Uni-Flow Plunger, the company's latest innovation in by-pass plunger lift. The Uni-Flow delivers the benefits of a ball and sleeve plunger in a unique one-piece flow-thru design.

By containing the ball in a sealed cage, the Uni-Flow prevents lost and damaged equipment and associated wireline costs commonly associated with ball and sleeve plungers. Unlike a two-piece plunger, the Uni-Flow is designed to operate in normal wellhead configurations, eliminating the need for a ball stopper or shift rod in the lubricator. It is also compatible with most bottom-hole bumper springs.

The Uni-Flow Plunger is ideal for high-volume gas and liquid wells. These wells typically require excessive shut-in time when using a conventional plunger. The innovative design of the Uni-Flow allows it to fall against flow, reducing or eliminating shut-in times and delivering optimal production. Its multiple by-pass slot configurations accommodate a range of production rates and allow the operator more control over fall speeds to maximize the life of the plunger and bottom-hole equipment.

Andrew Boldt, Vice President of Sales, says, "We listened to our customers' problems using the ball and sleeve plunger and engineered an easier to use and more reliable product. The Uni-Flow is yet another example of how PCS is continually improving plunger lift products and making optimization easier for our customers."
