Thailand tourists looking for an active way to spend a day may find what they are looking for when the Phuket Mountain Bike Hash race returns on June 24th 2012.

The monthly event, which is typically held on the third Sunday of each month, sees a group of between 35 and 45 foreign and Thai cyclists embarking on a taxing and challenging ride, usually lasting between 90 and 120 minutes.

Open to anybody aged 14 or over, the ride accommodates people of all backgrounds and experience levels, whether they wish to burn rubber at the front of the pack or take it easy at the back.

Location details for the June run are yet to be announced, but registration has been confirmed for 14:00 local time, ahead of a 15:00 start.

Registration costs 250 baht (£5.10) including soft drinks and a buffet supper after the ride, while bikes can be hired on the day for the same amount.

The Phuket Mountain Bike Hash was inaugurated in August 2004 and has proven a popular event for locals and expats alike ever since.
