LateRooms.com - Brighton Kite Festival returns for 2012

June 16, 2012 (PRLEAP.COM) Travel News
The Brighton Kite Festival returns to the south coast city's Stanmer Park next month, offering visitors a chance to see kites of all shapes and sizes.

Taking place on Saturday July 7th and Sunday July 8th, this free public event is one of the UK's longest running kite festivals.

A host of kite-flying display teams will be in attendance to show off their skills, including Close Encounters, Team Spectrum, Team Evolver and the Brighton Kite Flyers.

Highlights of the programme include the now traditional Martin Lester Spirit kite fly, kite fighting sessions and the flying of kites made in the children's workshop.

A number of kite traders will also be present for people interested in purchasing their own.

On each day, the action is due to take place from 11:00 to 17:00 BST.

Car parking for visitors will be available at the rear of Stanmer Park. Although entrance to the festival is free, a donation for parking will be requested to help the organisers cover costs.

LateRooms.com recommends a wide range of hotels in Brighton that could appeal to kite enthusiasts and festival-goers, including the Motel Schmotel.
