"A boob job could improve your confidence" says online cosmetic surgery resource

Breast augmentation surgery can give you more confidence according to an online cosmetic surgery resource.

Cosmetic Surgery Guru – which provides information and advice regarding both surgical and non-surgical procedures – has discussed going under the knife and has highlighted the benefits of boob jobs.

A spokeswoman for the site, Isabella Franklin, said: "Breasts are a very important part of a woman's anatomy and many females feel happier with more upfront. Their confidence levels often rise with a decent pair of bosoms and they're happy to visit a highly-trained surgeon for optimum results."

She continued: "You only have to look at the latest statistics from The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons to see that boob job on the rise. Numbers rose by 6.2 per cent between 2010 and 2011 and 10,003 women opted for breast surgery in 2011 alone. In fact, boob job procedures are the most popular type of surgery in the UK and have been for several years now, so that tells us something."

Cosmetic Surgery Guru's statements also seem to complement a Manchester-based study which came to light earlier this year. According to the first scientific study of its kind, push-up bras make women 75 per cent more confidence. During the research, a total of 60 video recording were made of participants aged between 20 and 55 and their micro-behaviours were analysed – while wearing normal and push-up lingerie.

It was found that smiling (associated with confidence) increased by 73 per cent when the women were wearing a push up bra and breaking eye contact (associated with low confidence) decreased by 41 per cent. While the Professor of Psychology at The University of Manchester, Geoff Beattie, hoped this would deter women from breast surgery, it seems ladies enjoy having a fuller cleavage – surgically or not.
