Trailers From Hell Gains Hollywood's Support in Final Fundraising Week

July 12, 2012 (PRLEAP.COM) Entertainment News
July 12, 2012. Los Angeles, CA. After three prosperous weeks, Trailers From Hell (TFH) — the award-winning fan favorite that its founders still can't believe you've never heard of — has entered the final week of its Kickstarter campaign and announced a last-minute batch of new rewards.

The campaign, which launched June 19th, aims to raise at least $30,000 dollars to continue funding production until, at least, the series' critical 1000th episode milestone. Additional funds will be dedicated to updating and streamlining the Trailers From Hell website and continuing the team's commitment to free and open distribution.

With only one week left in the campaign, the TFH team has reached almost 85% of their funding goal, committing to distribute over 2,000 individual reward premiums amongst more than 450 individual donors.

Some of Hollywood's best-known directors, producers and writers have pitched in and donated rewards to help entice contributors. "We're encouraged and grateful at the outpouring of support from TFH fans as we enter our crucial final week," said co-founder Joe Dante. "We still have plenty of great premiums to be claimed by new backers, although the joy of giving far outweighs any material benefits, right? Sure it does!" added Dante.

Among the newly announced rewards are several, rare pieces of Gremlins memorabilia, including "Gizmo's Slumber Party" (an unopened Gremlins-branded sleeping bag and overnight duffel.) These new rewards join many still-unclaimed prizes, including DVD sets from the Warner Brothers Archive, Severin Films, and Synapse Films, as well as props from Starship Troopers and Innerspace.

TFH is also offering the chance for you to have Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Josh Olson read your script. The team even caught Olson — who once famously declared to the Village Voice, "I Will Not Read Your F**king Script" – admitting now, under no duress whatsoever, his willingness to contribute his services to one lucky donor. "This is just more cool stuff to entice you to help us attain our goal, which is tantalizingly close," said Dante. "Help us keep Trailers From Hell going and growing! Destination: trailer commentary #1000!"
