Humanitarian Orianne Collins, CEO and President of the Little Dreams Foundation of Switzerland and wife of famous musician and singer Phil Collins will visit Dubai in November to raise funds for the Dubai Centre for Special Needs.

During her visit, Ms Collins will conduct an auction of a priceless bracelet designed by her in white gold and precious stones, for the jewellery house of Van Cleef & Arpels.

“Since the creation of the Van Cleef & Arpels house of jewellery in 1906, we have always endeavoured to contribute to social causes and are delighted to join hands with Orianne and Phil Collins, co-founders of the Little Dreams Foundation, that provides financial support to children aged 4 to 16 in helping them develop their artistic or athletic talent,” said Van Cleef & Arpels Director, Stephan De Palmas.

He noted that proceeds from the auction of the bracelet would be donated to the Dubai Centre for Special Needs.

The idea of establishing a centre to serve the needs of individuals with special needs took form in the Eighties. Through the efforts of parents of special needs children, a villa was rented in Jumeirah to accommodate five such students. The Centre was named "5 Aces". Through the endeavours of the Board of Governors, who are still actively involved, the Centre expanded to serve the needs of an increased number of students. From the very beginning, the Centre has been charitable, non-profit making organization.

Phil & Orianne Collins founded the Little Dreams Foundation in Switzerland in February 2000. It was officially launched on 24th September 2001 in Geneva. The non-profit Little Dreams Foundation is recognised as being beneficial to the general public.

“The Foundation aims to make dreams come true for children between the ages of 4 and 16 who have a special gift or talent in athletics or the arts,” said Ms Collins.

She noted that every year, the Little Dreams Foundation selects 10 children from throughout the world. “These young talents become Foundation members for one year. Throughout the year, each child is evaluated based on his/her progress, motivation, and development in order to determine whether his/her contract with the Foundation will be renewed,” Ms. Collins remarked.

Van Cleef & Arpels is a jewellery house known for its intricate, classic and stunning designs. Every piece of jewellery involves painstaking work as Van Cleef & Arpels have literally mastered the art of jewellery through an eye for ingenious detail, sophisticated mechanisms and well kept secrets such as telling time with a delicate touch of a flower's petal or a leaf set with jewels.
