24hr Home Care Wins 2012 Best Places to Work

Culver City, California   September 20, 2012   Health News
(PRLEAP.COM) 24Hr HomeCare, a company providing excellent non-medical home care, announced today that it ranked fourth in the small employer category of the 2012 Best Places to Work in Los Angeles.

The honor was given by the Los Angeles Business Journal, which annually recognizes 100 employers in Los Angeles County that provide Best Places to Work. The 2012 program included 20 companies in the small business category (15-49 U.S. employees), 36 companies in the medium employers category (50-249 U.S. employees) and 44 companies in the large employer category (250 or more U.S. employees).

This is the first time 24Hr Homecare participated in the program. The Affordable Los Angeles senior caregiver, which has more than 40 workers, was selected because of the company's creative ways of keeping its employees happy in the workplace.

Tyner Slay, owner and cofounder of the in home care services Southern California, said the award is especially meaningful because the employees helped to decide the outcome. The annual awards program surveys employees about such areas as work environment, relationship with supervisor, role satisfaction, pay and benefits, corporate culture and communications.

24Hr Homecare awards its employees for outstanding job performance with gift cards, iPads and trips. The company also celebrates employees' birthdays, promotions and job anniversaries. To maintain the employees' motivation and keep up morale, employees start and end their work day with an interactive game called, "Catch Phrase." Another way the company shows its appreciation is having "half-day Fridays" once a month.

Slay said the company's aim is to create a culture in which employees are "excited" about coming to work. Slay also said that the company wants employees to know that their hard work is not taken for granted.
