Back In St. Olaf With Jody McFerren Heads To Asheville, NC!

Author and artist Jody McFerren brings his "Back In St. Olaf! With Jody McFerren" event to Asheville on Sunday, October 7, from 4:00PM – 6:00PM at O'Henry's. What to expect at this shindig for Back In St. Olaf… An Illustrated Encyclopedia of Stories, Idiotic Sayings & Home Cookery? Gorgeous illustrations, platters of delicious treats to sample, trivia contests, St. Olaf specialty cocktails, chances to win artwork, and a lot of fun.

McFerren is such a devoted fan of The Golden Girls that he created a book devoted to his favorite character, Rose Nylund, played by Betty White, and her stories of St. Olaf, Minnesota. He's taking these events on the road from Florida to New York to garner support for his Back In St. Olaf facebook fanpage to leverage a publishing deal.

McFerren, who has worked with CNN and PEZ Candy, Inc., has created gorgeous illustrations and recipes for the soon to be published book. Illustrations will be exhibited for raffle or purchase, with proceeds donated to Western North Carolina AIDS Project.

Also happening that week is the gay film festival Asheville Qfest, and on Saturday, October 6, is Blue Ridge Pride. O'Henry's is located at 237 Haywood Street.
