Poor economic conditions have mixed results for HR recruitment

November 16, 2012 (PRLEAP.COM) Entertainment News
Hiring of HR professionals increased in Sydney in quarter three, while remaining stable in Brisbane and Melbourne, according to the latest HR Job Market Update from specialist recruitment consultancy Robert Walters.

The update found many organisations were carefully managing headcount in their HR teams. Most hiring activity took place across financial services (insurance and banking), professional services (legal and management consulting), technology and telecommunications.

Steven Burrows, manager of HR recruitment adds, "The demand for HR professionals varied, but on the whole remained steady, which was impressive considering how the fluctuating economy influenced other sectors. The quarter four outlook is also strong, with activity expected to increase across the board in Sydney, in some areas in Brisbane, while remaining stable in Melbourne. As confidence returns in early 2013 we expect further improve."

The update also found that restricted budgets meant salaries remained stable across the board. Professionals seeking new opportunities were looking to join organisations with a strong brand and good HR leadership.
