XEX Hair Gallery hosts Eighth Annual Holiday Benefit for Feeding America

CHICAGO (Nov 27, 2012) - XEX Hair Gallery is excited to announce it's eight annual holiday benefit on Thursday, December 6, 2012, at the Hard Rock Cafe, 63 West Ontario Street, Chicago, at 6:00 pm. All proceeds from the event will benefit Feeding America's efforts to feed Chicago and America's hungry. Festivities include live music by The Project, Seeking Wonderland, The Hat Guys and Johnny Dorman. This year's benefit will include a giving tree. You will be able to browse the list of donated goods and services from Chicago businesses, then select one that you would like. You can then donate half of the retail value of the item to Feeding America to receive the item.

The motivation for the benefit is the organizations it will be supporting. Feeding America is the largest charitable hunger-relief organization in the country and a close neighbor to XEX in the Leo Burnett Building. Feeding America has determined that its aid relieves 25 million Americans each year and generates seven meals for every dollar in donation it receives.

"As a member of the local community, we feel that part of our responsibility is to help others as much as possible." said David Perry, co-owner of XEX. "Since Gary Mattiazzi and I started XEX eight years ago, we have celebrated the season with a party to thank those who have helped us succeed. We have been fortunate to see the event grow and see so many people excited to contribute to these amazing organizations."

XEX has provide over 604,000 plates of food for Feeding America throughout its eight years of contributing. Aside from their efforts with the holiday benefit, XEX donates a portion of its proceeds from services all year long to Feeding America. A community page exists on their web site to allow clients to monitor the amount donated on a regular basis.

All are encouraged to join XEX, and Feeding America at the Hard Rock Cafe, 63 W. Ontario St., on Thursday, December 6th at 6:00 pm. Tickets for the event are available for a minimum donation of $10, though a larger donation is welcome and appreciated.
