Lexus Dealers Excel Once Again in J.D. Power Sales Satisfaction Index

MASSAPEQUA PARK, N.Y., Dec. 14, 2012 — Lexus has been rolling out a bolder model lineup this year, but fortunately for its customers, a new report has found that the automaker's salespeople remain accommodating, not aggressive. The recently released J.D. Power and Associates 2012 U.S. Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) Study revealed that Lexus has the highest level of customer approval among luxury brands for the second consecutive year.

Measuring the satisfaction of 31,386 new-vehicle buyers, the 2012 J.D. Power SSI Study analyzed dealerships where a purchase was made, as well as those that were rejected. The criteria considered for the selling dealer were the salesperson, delivery process, facility and process of making the deal, while rejected dealers were judged on their salesperson, fairness of price, facility, inventory and experience negotiating. After results were compiled, Lexus bested all luxury brands with an index score of 737 out of 1,000.

"While other luxury dealerships think their vehicles speak for themselves, as a Lexus dealer, we strive to make the showroom experience as comfortable and enjoyable as being behind the wheel of a Lexus," said William Finsilver, general manager of Lexus of Massapequa, a Long Island Lexus dealer. "The latest SSI Study shows that new Lexus buyers appreciate that level of service, and we're focused on keeping those same customers satisfied when they return for maintenance or maybe a trade-in down the road."

Should Lexus customers decide to trade in their vehicles in the future, new projections from Kelley Blue Book indicate they will get more back than other luxury-car buyers. The auto researcher's 2013 Best Resale Value Awards predict that, on average, Lexus models will retain the highest percentage of their MSRPs after five years of ownership. Among the reasons for Lexus' win were its reputation for quality, safety and value, as well as its recent moves toward bolder styling and improved performance and comfort.

Kelley Blue Book not only ranks the auto brands with the best overall resale value, but it also names the top 10 models on the market, and this year, the list included the 2013 Lexus LX. Offering plenty in the way of off-road prowess, the large Lexus SUV features a 383-horsepower V8 engine and advanced all-terrain technology like Crawl Control and full-time four-wheel drive. Meanwhile, the Adaptive Variable Suspension and Active Height Control provide a smooth ride on pavement just as well as on gravel.

Inside, the 2013 Lexus LX has the premium features that fans of the brand have come to expect, with standard leather upholstery, Mahogany wood trim, a rearview camera and a voice-activated navigation system. For added connectivity, buyers can also opt for the Lexus Enform App Suite, which enables hands-free access to apps like Pandora, OpenTable and Yelp through a compatible smartphone.

"The abundance of amenities in the Lexus LX are great for longer road trips, but they will even have you looking forward to running errands around town," added Finsilver. "At the same time, the SUV also has the impressive capability to get off the beaten path on weekends, should you want to explore the outdoors in complete comfort."
